This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding graduate of Bloomer High School who shows great potential for success and a passion for learning. The applicant must be accepted for admission to UW-Eau Claire and determined eligible through the Financial Aid Office. The applicant must write an essay explaining their academic and career aspirations and how this scholarship makes their education possible from a financial perspective. For this scholarship, student must demonstrate financial need but not qualify for financial assistance through grant eligibility. This scholarship is renewable for the sophomore year at UW-Eau Claire, provided the student performs well academically during the freshman year. The UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Office will confirm the eligibility of the sophomore student.

Scholarship applications are available at Bloomer High School.

The application and essay are due to Bloomer High School on April 1st.

The Bloomer High School Scholarship Committee will review the applications and select the freshman recipient. A committee of members of the Moullet family also will review the applications. The final selection will be done by the Bloomer High School Scholarship Committee. Bloomer High School will complete and submit a Scholarship Award Form to the Financial Aid Office.

The Bloomer High School Scholarship Committee meets the first week of May.

The recipient will be notified and recognized at the Bloomer High School Scholarship Awards Banquet on the last Wednesday of May.

This scholarship was established in 2008 by Barry and Christine Moullet, originally from Bloomer, in honor of Barry’s parents, Ray and Valeria Moullet (who are now both deceased). Valeria grew up in Bloomer and graduated Salutatorian from Bloomer High School. Ray and Valeria ran the local bakery in Bloomer for 40 years. Barry Moullet is a 1983 UW-Eau Claire graduate and an executive with Darden Restaurants. The recipient must write a thank you letter to Barry and Christine Moullet and submit it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, S-214.
