Foundation Scholarships

Larsen, Samuel T.L. Memorial

Any member of the campus community is invited to nominate a student attending the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire who demonstrates enthusiasm for life in general, a broad interest in various activities and programs and a general concern for his/her fellow student, faculty and staff on campus.

Students are nominated by any member of the university community: faculty, staff or fellow students. Nomination forms are available in the Alumni Association Office.

Determined annually by the Alumni Association

The recipient will be selected by the Alumni Association Student Leadership Awards Committee.

Prior to the annual awards ceremony in February

The Alumni Association will notify the recipient and will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office after the awards ceremony.

The recipient should send a thank-you note to the Larsen Family in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office. Sam Larsen was a senior geography major from St. Germain who died in a kayaking accident on Lake Superior in 2004. Classmates and family of Sam wanted to establish this fund in his memory. Sam exhibited true Blugold Spirit and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. This scholarship in his memory is to recognize future Blugolds with a similar zest for life and a passion for others.
