Foundation Scholarships

Two awards at $700.00 each, $1,400 total. The award is assumed to be permanent; only recipients who leave the IS major before graduation must return the money to the scholarship fund. No on-campus maintenance is included; factory maintenance agreements apply.

This scholarship is available to Information Systems majors who will be of sophomore standing or enrolled in IS240 at the time of the award and will use it to purchase a laptop computer that meets the College of Business computer recommendation. Applicants must have financial need and have a current FAFSA form on file with the UWEC Financial Aid Office, and must not have received this scholarship previously. Additional criteria that will be considered include GPA, honors earned, work experience, extracurricular activities, leadership skills and personal character.

Applicants must submit a letter of application, a current unofficial UW-Eau Claire transcript, current resume and a biographical essay (500-1,500 words) discussing honors received, work experience and extracurricular activities; in each section applicants should emphasize their leadership and character. Applicants should email all application materials to the IS Scholarship Committee chair at ISscholarships@UWEC.edu.

First Friday in March

The IS Scholarship Committee will review the applications and select the recipients.

Third Friday in March

The Chair of the IS Scholarship Committee will notify the recipient.
