Lands' End


AMOUNT: Two $1000 awards

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Two $1,000 non-renewable scholarships shall be awarded to two outstanding UW-Eau Claire students (junior or senior) accepted into the College of Business, majoring in one of the academic majors offered through the College of Business. Recipients must be preparing to enter their junior year at the time of application, be in good academic standing with a 3.0 GPA or better and have a proven track record of leadership and participation in school and community activities. Scholarship recipients shall be selected through the process outlined by the College of Business Dean’s office for college-wide scholarships. Check with the Dean’s Office to obtain application, selection and deadline information. The award recipients shall be encouraged to apply for a 12-week paid internship with Lands’ End. To receive credit for the internship, College of Business recipients must meet course requirements specified by their major. Students should contact their department chair for more information.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
The Chair of the department should make sure the scholarship opportunity is announced to their majors by mid-February. Application forms are available in the College of Business Dean’s Office. Students must complete and return the application form to the College of Business Departmental Office by March 15th.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Applications received by the deadline date are submitted to the College of Business Scholarship Committee. They meet, review all applications, and provide names of nominees (based on the eligibility criteria above) to the Dean of the College of Business (based on the eligibility criteria above) from all of the applications received in their department.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
Early April. The announcement of the recipients should coincide with UWEC’s Honors Week. The recipients should be recognized at the Honors Week event of the department of their major.
NOTIFICATION:
Recipients shall be notified in writing by the College of Business Dean’s office before the end of the academic year. In the notification letter, recipients shall be encouraged to apply for a 12-week paid internship with Lands’ End. The Dean shall send to Lands’ End by June 1st the name of the recipients and the student’s resumes. The Dean will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
Recipients also shall be asked to contact Amber Mau (Lands’ End, Inc., Recruitment and Development Specialist, 2 Lands’ End Lane, Dodgeville, WI 53595) to express appreciation for the scholarship and obtain information on internship opportunities. Future funding for the scholarship shall be reviewed annually beginning in the fall of 2006. It is understood and agreed that Lands’ End may terminate its participation in this scholarship program at any time and for any reason before agreeing to the funding of the next year’s scholarships.
