AMOUNT: Two at $550.00 AVAILABLE: Available ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The purpose of the scholarship is to provide an art scholarship to an outstanding art student. Applicant must be a declared Bachelor of Fine Arts major, with priority preference given to students with an emphasis in ceramics or textiles.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Application forms are available from the Department of Art and Design. Complete and return the application to the department.APPLICATION DEADLINE: In March. Deadline announced by the department in late February or early March.SELECTION PROCEDURE: The Department of Art and Design Scholarship Committee will review the applications and select the recipient(s).SELECTION DEADLINE: The Scholarship Committee selects the recipient(s) sometime between the application deadline and the annual juried student art show.NOTIFICATION: The recipient(s) will be announced at the annual juried student art show in the Foster Gallery. A “Scholarship Award Form” will be forwarded to the Financial Aid office.SPECIAL NOTES: This scholarship was established in 2008 with an estate gift from Randolph Koelsch, who died in 2007. Mr. Koelsch was a member of the UW-Eau Claire art faculty in the early 1950’s. A Milwaukee native, Mr. Koelsch only taught at UW- Eau Claire for one year, but during that time he became good friends with Gretchen Grimm and Ruth Foster, fellow art teachers. He also lived in the home of then UW-Eau Claire president Davies and his wife. Mr. Koelsch had a great affection and appreciation for UW-Eau Claire.
