Klinger Art Scholarship


Klinger Art Scholarship AMOUNT: $500
AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
This scholarship is open to all promising undergraduate art students, sophomore level or above. It is available to all majors within the Art and Design Department. The scholarship is renewable if the recipient continues to meet the qualifications. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.8. Financial need, although would be preferred, should not be a determining factor.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Application forms are available from the Department of Art and Design. Complete and return application to the department.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Last Friday in March
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Art and Design Scholarship Committee will select the candidate that most closely meets the criteria.
SELECTION DEADLINE: Second Friday in April.
NOTIFICATION:
An award letter will be sent to the recipient by the Art and Design Department Chair. The Chair will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
The recipient should send a letter of appreciation to David Klinger in care of the Foundation Office, Schofield 214. The Klinger Art Scholarship will be supported annually initially but has also been endowed through David Klinger’s estate. Once the planned gift is realized, the account should become endowed. Once endowed, it is expected that the annual award be $1,000.
