Kirby, a 1968 UW-Eau Claire graduate, who spent his career working in the library profession. Throughout his life, he traveled extensively around the world, constantly learning and appreciating the perspectives of those he met. As a native of Wisconsin, he valued the opportunity to travel and he established this scholarship to encourage other students, especially those who have not traveled abroad, to take advantage of the opportunities offered through the Study Abroad program. He especially wants to help those students whose financial situations would make it difficult for them to participate in the program. He named this scholarship after his family and in particular his mother, Frances, who was always supportive of everything he has done. Thank you notes must be sent to Mr. Donald Kirby, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, S-214. |
