AMOUNT: $1,300.00 AVAILABLE: Annually ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Student must be an accounting or finance major admitted to the College of Business at UW-EC with plans and ability to enter the public accounting profession or banking industry after graduation. Preference will be given to nontraditionally-aged students, 25 or older. If a nontraditionally-aged student is unavailable, then a traditionally-aged student meeting the remainder of the criteria will be considered for the scholarship. Student must be a junior or senior student or one returning for a second baccalaureate degree; be enrolled as a full- time or a part-time student taking at least 9 credits per semester. Student must have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or demonstrated the ability to achieve a significantly higher GPA. Must have financial need, with preference given to individuals who work part-time to support their educational expenses.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: A letter of application outlining educational and career goals should be submitted to the Accounting and Finance Scholarship Committee along with a transcript of all academic work completed.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications become available the week before spring break and are due the week after spring break.SELECTION PROCEDURE: The Accounting and Finance Scholarship Committee will make the selection subject to review by Mary Ann Johnson.SELECTION DEADLINE: To be determined by the Scholarship Committee, but no later than June 1.NOTIFICATION: The Accounting and Finance Scholarship Committee will send written notification to the Financial Aid Office prior to June 1.SPECIAL NOTES: The recipient is encouraged to send a thank-you note to Mary Ann Johnson in care of the UW-EC Foundation Office, S- 214. This scholarship is given in memory of her late husband, Craig A. Johnson, as a demonstration of their commitment to improving the educational opportunities of promising accounting and finance students who will uphold the standards of professionalism and integrity by which Craig lived. |
