Foundation Scholarships

Jacobson, Gerald and Mary Economics


AMOUNT: Three awards at $500 each, $1,500 total
AVAILABLE: Available
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The awards are available to UW-Eau Claire students at the junior or senior level with an Economics major who have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Student must have financial need. The scholarship is not renewable to a student for a second year.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Students should pick up an application form in the Economics Department office. Return the completed application form, along with a typed, one-page essay (300- word maximum) that outlines the reasons why the student will benefit from the scholarship, to the Economics Department office.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
The last Monday in March.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Department of Economics Scholarship Committee will select the award recipient based upon the criteria stated above.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
Two weeks after the application deadline.
NOTIFICATION:
A letter will be sent to the recipient from the Chair of the Scholarship Committee. The Chair will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
This scholarship was created in 2004 by Jerry and Mary Jacobson to support Economics students attending UW-Eau Claire. A letter of appreciation should be sent to Jerry and Mary Jacobson in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, Schofield 214.
