Global Awareness - International Study Abroad

Students enrolling in Study Abroad Programs offered by the Center for International Education or UW-Eau Claire departments will be considered for scholarships based upon financial need, academic merit, and written application.

An application is available online at the Center for International Education website at http://www.uwec.edu/cie/studyabroad/.

August 15 for winterim or spring programs; February 15 for summer programs; April 15 for fall/academic year programs

The UW-Eau Claire Study Abroad Grant Committee reviews applications and recommends recipients and award level to the Director of the Center for International Education.

Mid-September for winterim/spring programs; Mid-March for summer programs; Mid-May for fall/academic year programs

Notification will be sent by CIE to the recipient by email. The CIE Director will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.

Funding for these scholarships is made possible largely through collective efforts on behalf of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Board of Directors, as well as gifts from other donors. These scholarships are part of UW-Eau Claire’s Global Awareness Initiative whereby the university emphasizes an understanding of the larger world and cultures outside of the United States are a critical part of a well-rounded education in today’s world. The recipient should send a thank-you note to the Foundation Office, S-214.
