Foundation Scholarships

Hmong Alumni

$250 for new and transfer student

The recipient must be a UW-Eau Claire student. Students must have a minimum of a 3.00 GPA (high school or college cumulative). Continuing students must have a minimum of 24 credits. Preference will be given to UW-Eau Claire Hmong students. A student can receive the scholarship only once. The Hmong Student Alumni and friends have established the UW-Eau Claire Hmong Alumni Scholarship to assist students attending UW-Eau Claire who have demonstrated financial need and outstanding academic achievement.

Second Wednesday in September

Complete an application form and return it to the Office of Multicultural Affairs by the application deadline at 4:00 p.m. Include a copy of current or most recent school transcript (applies only to new and transfer students). The scholarship applications are available at the Office of Multicultural Affairs in room 225 of Schofield Hall. A selection committee consisting of the Coordinator of the Hmong/SE Asian Student Services, UW-Eau Claire Alumni and other community members will choose the recipient.

The third week in September

The Office of Multicultural Affairs will notify the recipients by letter, with copies sent to the Financial Aid and UW-EC Foundation offices. The scholarship will be announced at the annual Office of Multicultural Affairs’ banquet. The Office of Multicultural Affairs will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office for each recipient.

The scholarship will be applied to the students’ accounts for the academic year, half in the fall semester and the other half in the spring semester.
