Foundation Scholarships

Hagen, Genevieve International Study Abroad

This scholarship shall be awarded annually to an outstanding UW-Eau Claire student planning to participate in the University’s International Study Abroad program. Preference will be given to sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in foreign languages who are planning to study in a Scandinavian country or Germany. Second preference for a student of any major studying abroad in a European country.

August 15 for spring programs if no award was made for fall April 15 for fall/academic year programs

The UW-Eau Claire Study Abroad Grant Committee reviews applications and recommends the recipient to the Director of the Center for International Education.

Mid-September for spring programs Mid-May for fall/academic year programs

Notification will be sent by CIE to the recipient by email. The CIE Director will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.

This scholarship was established by the Hagen children in memory of their mother, Genevieve, who taught Norwegian at UW-Eau Claire in the late 1970’s and 1980’s. A thank you note should be written to Mr. Richard Hagen, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214.
