Hable Family

The recipient must be accepted as a student at UW-Eau Claire with demonstrated financial need. The preference is that the recipient be a graduate of Bloomer High School. If there is no qualified applicant, then the recipient can be selected who has graduated from any other school district in Wisconsin.

Prior to the July 1

The Guidance counselor at Bloomer High School will send written notification to the Admissions Office at UW-Eau Claire.

The recipient should send a thank-you letter to Robert Hable in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield Hall 214. The Hable Family Scholarship in Honor of Anona “Nona” Hable was created by Robert Hable in honor of his mother, Anona, who received her two-year teaching certificate from Eau Claire State Teacher’s College. She taught first in the Stanley school district and then married. After her children were older, she picked up her teaching career in the Bloomer school district. Nona was a life-long educator and the Hable Scholarship is in recognition of the importance that education was to Nona. Other family members, like Robert, also have their degree from UW-Eau Claire and it is the family’s desire to establish this fund to encourage Bloomer High School students to pursue their baccalaureate degree.
