SPECIAL NOTES:
This scholarship was established by Robin (Friend) Seigle, a 1979 art education graduate of UW-Eau Claire, in memory of her father, Herbert Friend, who passed away on May 24, 2007, at the age of 92. Herb Friend was passionate about art. He studied at the Manley-Bridge School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts, then worked for Sears creating wonderful window displays. He also worked for Merrill Chase Art Gallery, selling rare and expensive artwork, and his last job until he retired in 1979 was working for a small, family business, again doing window displays. Upon retirement, Herb created pen and ink drawings of homes. Robin established this scholarship to honor her father, his love of art and his passion for life. Recipient should write a letter of thanks and deliver it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214.
