Foundation Scholarships

Open to students who are U.S. service veterans with a Biology Education major planning to teach after graduation. If no veteran in need of financial assistance is available, the award is to go to a student with financial need majoring in Biology who plans to teach. Students should have a major GPA of at least 3.25 or above.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Department of Biology Scholarship Committee, which has faculty representation from the major subdisciplines of biology. Applications will be evaluated both in terms of their academic merit and their compatibility with award eligibility criteria.

Prior to the end of the spring semester

The recipient will be informed by letter by the Chair of the Awards committee. The Chair of the Awards Committee shall complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” for the recipient to the Financial Aid office by June 1.

The late Charlotte Grinsel created this scholarship to encourage students to study in the Biology Education field.
