AMOUNT: 1 @ $1,500AVAILABLE: New award available for 2013-2014ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The Hannah M. Greenhill Scholarship is to be awarded to a freshman student at UW-Eau Claire who must be a graduate of a high school in either Barron or Dunn counties and must have financial need. Candidates must have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT) AND rank in the top 25% of their graduating class (or GPA of 3.5) to be eligible. If a traditional student from Barron or Dunn County is not available to receive a scholarship, consideration may be given to a transfer student from the Barron County two-year campus who has maintained a B+ grade point average and has financial need. The Greenhill scholarship is renewable up to three years for the recipient selected as a freshman provided the student maintains a B+ grade point average. Only one student a year will receive the scholarship, so if a student is renewed for the scholarship in the sophomore, junior and senior years, no new recipient will be selected during these years.APPLICATION PROCEDURE: To be considered for Incoming Freshman Student Admissions Scholarships, just submit the application for admission. There is no separate application to apply, though demonstration of financial need is required for certain merit-based scholarships. Your application for admission will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible. If you have questions, please contact the Admissions Office at (715)836-5415.SELECTION PROCEDURE: The Admissions Office will coordinate the selection process, which is highly competitive. The process is based off of the student’s admissions profile including: transcripts, academic history, list of involvements and essays. These are among the criteria that will be reviewed for scholarship purposes.SELECTION DEADLINE: Screening of candidates will begin in December for some early awards and continue through the spring or until awards are accepted.NOTIFICATION: Scholarship award notices will be sent to scholarship recipients by the beginning of April of student’s senior year. If scholarships are declined, they will be re- awarded to alternates through the summer months. The Office of Admissions will notify the scholarship recipient (and their high school counselors once an award is accepted.)SPECIAL NOTES: The recipient must send a thank-you note to Hannah and Gaylon Greenhill in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield Hall 214. |
