SPECIAL NOTES:
This scholarship honors Drs. Paul Myers and Ronald Willis, emeriti professors in the UW-Eau Claire Geology Department. Paul and Ron were instrumental in establishing geology field camp experiences in the western United States. These field camps cemented our reputation as a field-based, hands-on geology department. Ron started the field camp program in the Bighorn Basin and the western flank of the Bighorn Mountains in 1971. Paul started the field camp in Boulder, Montana. The field camp projects in Boulder were an outgrowth of Paul’s research with the USGS in that area. The Geology Department hopes donations to the Myers/Willis Field Camp Scholarship Fund will sustain students’ field camp opportunities in the future. The goal is to defray some field camp expenses for several students each year. The recipient should send a letter of appreciation to Dr. Paul Meyers and Dr. Ronald Willis in care of the Foundation Office, Schofield 214.
