Foundation Scholarships

Epilepsy Foundation

To assist an individual who has epilepsy with his/her academic and/or vocational training.

Applicants must have a primary diagnosis of epilepsy/seizure disorder; provide name of physician and name of anticonvulsant medication(s); provide proof of acceptance to a post-secondary academic or vocational program; be a full-time student or equivalent thereof; be a legal resident of Western Wisconsin (22 county coverage area) or attending a school in Western Wisconsin (22 county coverage area). Submit a completed application no later than November 1.

Awards will be based on the quality of applications through a competitive scoring system that balances need with achievement. The Epilepsy Foundation reserves the right to determine each year the number of scholarships to be awarded based on the quality of the applications. Awards, once given, are not automatically renewed.

Recipients will be selected by November 14, 2008. An award presentation will be held by the Epilepsy Foundation on December 2.

The Epilepsy Foundation will notify the student and send a copy of the award letter to the UWEC Financial Aid Office.

The recipient is expected to attend the award presentation in December and submit a thank you letter to the Epilepsy Foundation, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214.
