Classified Staff Grant


AMOUNT: 6 @ $250
AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
This scholarship was created by Susie Warden and Linda Haag and is intended to sustain and strengthen the quality of the support staff at UW-Eau Claire. Applicants must be current members of the Classified Staff at UW-Eau Claire and must be employed at least .5 FTE. Applicants must be employed “on campus”, and hold a permanent position and successfully completed their probationary period. One $500 scholarship will be available in the fall semester and another $500 award will be available in the spring semester. A recipient may apply for additional awards and must submit a new application.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Applicants must submit a completed application. Application forms are available in the Human Resources Department, Schofield Room 220. Financial need will be considered but will not be the determining factor.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
All application materials must be submitted to the Human Resources Office at UW-Eau Claire by the first Friday in July for the fall award or the second Friday in December for the spring semester award.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Classified Staff Scholarship Committee will select the recipient based upon the criteria above.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
The first week in August for the fall award and the first week in January for the spring award.
NOTIFICATION:
The Classified Staff Scholarship Committee will send a notification letter to the recipient and complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
The recipient should send a thank-you letter addressed to Susie Warden and Linda Haag in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield Hall room 214. Susie Warden and Linda Haag started this grant fund in 2005 because they believe in lifelong learning. Both Susie and Linda completed their bachelor’s degrees at UW-Eau Claire while working as full-time members of the university’s Classified Staff. After completing their degrees, both women wanted to make certain other classified staff members had similar opportunities, so they created the Classified Staff Grant Fund.
