Blugold Promise - Lipinski


AMOUNT: There are two Lipinski Blugold Promise
scholarships: one new one at $500 and one renewal at $1,000.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The Ted and Valeria Lipinski Blugold Promise Scholarship shall be awarded to an outstanding incoming freshman student who has graduated from high school in Wisconsin who grew up on a Wisconsin farm, has been accepted for admission to UW-Eau Claire and demonstrates significant financial need as initially reported by the students and verified by the UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Office. First generation student to attend the university is preferred but not required. To be considered, students must rank in the top 25% of their graduating classes and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the Act (or comparable SAT), have a well- rounded high school record of academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extra curricular activities. In general a student who has a zest for life and a desire to get the most out of his/her college education will receive primary consideration. Recipients who have a successful freshman year and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 by the end of their first year will receive a $1,000 scholarship their sophomore year, if they continue to demonstrate financial need.

The general incoming freshmen scholarship application is available online at: www.uwec.edu/admissions/paying.htm. Admitted, eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. If you feel you meet the application requirements and cannot access the online application, please contact the Admissions Office at (715)836-5415.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 1
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Admissions Office will coordinate the selection of recipients.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
To enable the verification of financial need, recipients will be notified after the financial aid information has been received and no later than August 1.
NOTIFICATION:
The Office of Admissions will notify recipients (and their high school counselors once the award is accepted).
SPECIAL NOTES:
The recipient should address thank-you letters to Neil Lipinski and Joanne Pappas and send them to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield 214. This endowed scholarship was established by Neil Lipinski and Joanne Pappas in memory of Neil’s parents and the values they instilled in their children on the importance of receiving an education.
