Bauer Built Family Health Nursing

AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The recipient must be a student in the College of Nursing Program at UW-Eau Claire focusing specifically in family health nursing. The recipient must have demonstrated financial need and show promise in the nursing profession.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Application Forms: Students who are admitted to the nursing program at UW-Eau Claire will receive an email in late February/early March when the scholarship application is ready and available. The email will include the path to the online application forms located on the Department of Nursing website – www.uwec.edu/CONHS/students/nursscholarships.htm. Part One is filled online and submitted electronically. Part Two (the essay and activities form) is filled online and printed off, signed and submitted to the Dean’s Assistant Office, Nursing 103, by the deadline. The essay must address the eligibility criteria for each of the scholarships that you are applying for. Only one written essay of no more than 300 words will be accepted. Financial Need – For scholarships that indicate “financial need required” a FAFSA Financial Aid form must be filled out and there must be some level of financial need. The form is on the FAFSA website: www. fafsa.ed.gov/#. If you have questions regarding the FAFSA form, please contact the UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Office at 715-836-3373. Please apply for financial aid by March 1.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Nursing Scholarship Committee will review applications and select the recipient.

Prior to the Nursing scholarship dinner
NOTIFICATION:
The Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences will send notification to the recipient by letter and complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
This scholarship was established with a gift from Bauer Built (Durand, WI) through the efforts of Jerry Bauer, president of Bauer Built and a 1974 UW-Eau Claire graduate, to recognize the great need for and shortage of health-care professionals in our state and nation. This gift was matched by the Casper Foundation challenge grant. Letters of appreciation should be addressed to Mr. Jerry Bauer and sent in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.
