Distance Education Courses "Distance education" refers to any course in which the instructor is at a physical distance from the students over half the time. The course may be delivered via computer (online), audio-conferencing, two-way video, or other means. Online course registration must be completed three weeks before the start of the course. See course listing for exact date. All students enrolled in an online course must abide by the drop, withdraw deadlines for the term whether or not they have logged on to the course. The courses listed below are those that are available through UW-Eau Claire. Some are taught by UWEC instructors and are being sent to a variety of locations; some are taught by instructors from other institutions via technology. Be sure to note the "Held at: (location)” to the left following course listings. The courses may originate here or from another institution, but you register in any of them as a UW-Eau Claire student, and they will automatically be part of your UW-Eau Claire transcript. Additional fees may be assessed on some courses to cover distance education costs. Please review your e-mailed billing statement. |
|
Since distance education technologies are changing daily, there can be confusion caused by the variety of delivery options. Please be assured that as a registrant in a distance education course, you will have access to all the same student services that other students receive. If you encounter any problems in registering, or acquiring support services for a distance education offering, please feel free to contact the Registrar (ext 36-3887). |
