MENTRNG P-12 SCHL
Classroom meetings will be Jan. 26; Feb. 2, 9; Mar. 9;
Apr. 6, 20; and May 11. The course requires 90 minutes of
online participation in weeks when the class does not
meet face-to-face. Students will only participate in
field placements on Thursdays in weeks in which they have
classroom meetings on Tuesdays. Students are required to
participate in a field trip on May 4.
Introduction to mentoring that combines field experience
with course work which equips UW-Eau Claire students with
skills and strategies to support academic success and
inspire underrepresented, low-income, first-generation
and diverse 5th-12th grade students towards post-secondary
education. This course will consist of face-to-face and
on-line instruction as well as a field placement (30
hours). This course is open to all majors. Students are
required to provide their own transportation to their
field placements.
