1. Will my credits transfer?

2. How many students are admitted to Nursing?

40 students are admitted each semester to the Eau Claire site and 24 students annually to our satellite site in Marshfield.

3. What are the admission requirements and what does the first year coursework look like?

4. How competitive is it to get admitted to the Nursing program?

We get about 80-125 applications per semester and the GPA cutoff has been 3.35-3.59 over the last 8 admission cycles.

5. How long is your waiting list? Do you keep a waiting list?

No, we do not keep a waiting list. Students may reapply at the next admission cycle.

6. Do you use cadavers?

No, we do not. We do, however, use some simulation models in our learning labs.

7. Can I apply to Nursing now?

You must first be admitted to UWEC as a pre-nursing student, then see other admission criteria at: http://www.uwec.edu/admissions/facts/nursing.htm.

8. What if I have a bachelor's degree in another field?

The Accelerated Program Plan is designed to help people who already have a
bachelor's degree in another field complete the requirements for a Baccalaureate
of Science in Nursing (BSN) in approximately one year. Contact Lorraine Smith,
Assistant to the Dean, at 715.836.6012, for information about the accelerated BSN program and when the next students will be enrolled.
