Welcome to Family Health Nursing!

The Family Health Nursing department provides service to the undergraduate and graduate nursing curriculum by providing instruction relative to clinical decision making, communication, and individual and family assessment. The department also provides service to the graduate nursing curriculum by providing elective, core, and role courses. Service to the University is provided through wellness course offerings.

The goal of family health nursing is to help the family grow in its ability to deal with responses to actual and potential health problems and fulfill functions in a more healthful way. The Family Health Nursing department provides family content designed to assist learners to progress from the practice of family centered nursing care throughout the lifespan to providing care to the family as client across the family life cycle.

The department is committed to providing a collegial, collaborative and creative learning environment for all our constituencies.
