UW-Eau Claire has suspended its policy restricting certain activities by resident assistants until campus and UW System reviews of the policy are completed, Interim Chancellor Vicki Lord Larson announced Nov. 30. Meanwhile, the UW System has announced that it will appoint a systemwide advisory committee that will provide guidance about RA activities. Read related UW-Eau Claire and UW System news releases.
The Nov. 7 issue of UW-Eau Claire's University Bulletin provides background on this issue. On Nov. 14, UW System President Kevin Reilly requested that Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager provide a written legal opinion on the policy. On Nov. 21, Reilly was notified that Lautenschlager had declined the request.
