EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host a guest artist recital featuring pianist Dr. Gregory Partain at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Partain currently is an associate professor of music and artist-in-residence at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky. He has performed as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist across the U.S. and around the world.
Partain has competed in many prestigious competitions, taking first place in the Memphis Beethoven Piano Sonata Competition and the Kingsville International Piano Competition. His recordings have been met with critical acclaim in the U.S. and abroad. BBC Music Magazine called Partain a gifted pianist and said of his recordings that "every item is intelligently and sympathetically played."
The performance will consist of various pieces by Beethoven and Chopin. This event is free and open to the public.
