Continuing Education to offer retirement preparation workshop

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education and the professionals at Bernicke & Associates Ltd. of Eau Claire will offer a retirement preparation workshop from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18 at UW-Eau Claire.

The workshop will be led by Ty Bernicke, a certified financial planner, and Karlyn Etheridge, a certified specialist in estate planning and registered principal. It will focus on several facets of retirement planning, including specific tax and income, estate and investment strategies that can be used to make informed decisions about retirement. The course is tailored for individuals who are retired or who are within 10 years of retirement.

Ty Bernicke's research on investing and retirement planning has been recognized in the Chicago Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, Money magazine, and many other well-known publications. Bernicke also is a regularly contributing author to Forbes magazine.

Karlyn Etheridge has more than 20 years' experience in advanced estate planning, funding of revocable and irrevocable trusts, lifetime gifting, postmortem administration and tax and financial accounting. She has passed the certified public accounting exam and is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Bernicke & Associates Ltd. is a local, independent firm consisting of certified financial planner professionals, certified public accountants and Raymond James registered investment professionals. For more than 24 years the advisers have focused on providing research driven financial strategies to a limited number of investors.

The program fee is $59 per registrant. Participants may bring a spouse or guest at no extra charge. Each attendee will receive a seminar booklet.
