Swap-o-Rama set for Nov. 15 on campus

RELEASED: Oct. 31, 2011

EAU CLAIRE — The Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host Swap-o-Rama, an event that offers an alternative to consumerism, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 15 in The Cabin of Davies Center.

Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to give, take and trade clothing, accessories, shoes, jewelry, books, DVDs and other items they no longer need. Participants do not need to donate in order to participate, and are encouraged to take anything they can use. Leftover items will be donated to community organizations based on need.

Student Parents Reaching Out will co-sponsor the event. A special section of the swap will be dedicated to children's items, particularly winter clothing and apparel.

Items may be dropped off starting Oct. 31 in the Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center's lounge in Room 34 of Schofield Hall, or can be brought to The Cabin before noon the day of the event.

For more information, contact Abby Vercauteren at the Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center at vercaual@uwec.edu or 715-836-2693.
