EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host a guest artist recital featuring pianist Dr. Stacey Barelos at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

As a pianist and composer, Barelos specializes in the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, mainly the music of living composers. According to the American Record Guide, Barelos played with "authority and poetic nuance" in her solo release, "The Midwest American Piano Project," released by Albany Records in 2008.

Barelos is an assistant professor of music at Missouri Southern State University. Her works have been performed around the U.S. and Europe, and her solo piano piece, "Phobia," was featured on the 2009 Accent Ensemble's tour to Italy and Switzerland.

This event is free and open to the public.
