Continuing Education to offer foot and nail care program

RELEASED: Oct. 14, 2011

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education now is accepting registrations for its 2012 "Foot and Nail Care: Education for Nurses" program in Eau Claire. The program is designed for nurse practitioners, wound care nurses, diabetic educators and registered nurses working in the areas of public health, elderly services, long-term care or diabetic education. The program provides the tools needed to begin a practice of intermediate foot and nail care and qualifies participants to take the certification exam for foot and nail care offered through the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board.

Program sessions for 2012 are Feb. 16-17, June 14-15 or Oct. 18-19. The first day will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Ramada Convention Center, and the second day will take place from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church. Dr. Tara Beuscher, an adult nurse practitioner from Minocqua, is the program instructor.
