| Zweikampf, the harpsichord duo of Faythe Vollrath and Stephen Gamboa, will perform Dec. 1 at UW-Eau Claire. |
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host Zweikampf, the harpsichord duo of Faythe Vollrath and Stephen Gamboa, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The duo will present a dramatic and virtuosic program of works from the 18th century, featuring "Fandango" by Boccherini, "Pieces de Clavecin en concerts" by Rameau and concertos by Bach and Soler.
Originally from California, Vollrath and Gamboa debuted Zweikampf at the International Baroque Institute at the Longy School of Music in 2009. They have appeared in concert at the Berkeley Early Music Festival; California State University, Sacramento campus; and at the St. Mark's Concert Series in Islip, N.Y.
Dr. Tulio Rondón, assistant professor of music, was instrumental in bringing the duo to UW-Eau Claire. Rondón said the duo promotes historical performance through eclectic programming, engaging concert presentations and educational outreach.
