Patchin will leave for London Tuesday evening (Nov. 22).

Co-director of the Cyberbullying Research Center, Patchin has conducted extensive research on adolescent behavior online. He's given presentations about cyberbullying to thousands of educators, teens and parents throughout the United States. His book, "Bullying Beyond the Schoolyard: Preventing and Responding to Cyberbullying" (co-authored with Dr. Sameer Hinduja), examines the ways adolescents use technology to cause harm to their peers and what adults can do about it. He also recently co-edited “Cyberbullying Prevention and Response: Expert Perspectives” (with Hinduja) and has another book on the topic of cyberbullying that will be published in spring 2012. Patchin also has served as a visiting scholar with the FBI, conducting research and training FBI staff on issues relating to cyberbullying.

In March, Patchin was invited by the U.S. Department of Education, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Obama administration to share his expertise on the causes of and solutions for bullying during a conference at the White House. He was among a select panel of researchers that took part in the White House Conference on Bullying Prevention. President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama took part in the conference.

Patchin has been interviewed extensively by media throughout the world about cyberbullying issues. CNN, The New York Times, National Public Radio, BBC, Al Jazeera and other prestigious worldwide media have interviewed Patchin about his work in the area of cyberbullying.
