UW-Eau Claire to recognize Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Day Nov. 17

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will recognize Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Nov. 17 with an informative event on campus. National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week runs Nov. 12-20.

The event, which will take place from 5-7 p.m. in the Tamarack Room in Davies Center, will feature more than 40 local aid agencies.

Organizations such as The Community Table, Sojourner House, Bolton Refuge House and the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley will present information on how they help those affected by hunger and homelessness in the area.

Volunteer and service-learning opportunities will be available for those interested.

The local event is sponsored by Eau Claire Continuum of Care, the UW-Eau Claire Center for Service-Learning, UW-Eau Claire's Student Homeless Awareness Chapter and Clear Vision Eau Claire.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can come and go as is convenient.
