EAU CLAIRE —Members of Sigma Sigma Sigma will host a free self-defense class for women from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Tamarack Room of Davies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
"Women's Street Self Defense" will be taught by Curtis Huff from Karate America. Huff will educate women on safety strategies they can use while on the street, while using public transportation and while at home. Huff also will discuss basic self-defense techniques.
The event is free and open to women in the campus and greater Eau Claire communities.
Sigma Sigma Sigma is a national sorority, with the Gamma Lambda chapter located on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
