RELEASED: May 16, 2011

Blugold Beginnings LogoEAU CLAIRE — A golf outing fundraiser organized by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Beginnings program will be held June 20 at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club.

The event will begin with lunch and registration at 11:30 a.m. Proceeds from the golf outing will support the Blugold Beginnings program in partnership with the Eau Claire Area School District, which provides scholarships, campus events and mentoring for area students in grades five through 12.

Registration is $140 for a single player or $700 for a five-player team. Registration includes access to the private club, 18 holes of golf with cart, complimentary gift, beverages (beer, water and soda), lunch, prizes, a silent auction, raffle and dinner. An optional skins game is available for $20 per person. All skill levels are welcome. Supporting guests are welcome to attend and enjoy lunch, complimentary beverages, the silent auction, raffles and dinner.

The Blugold Beginnings program educates and inspires students, especially underrepresented, low-income or would-be first-generation college students, to believe that a postsecondary education is important, attainable and available at UW-Eau Claire and other institutions.

For more information or to register for the golf outing, visit the tournament website and download the registration form, or contact Lissa Martinez at martinlj@uwec.edu or 715-836-3651.
