Information systems scholarships, awards
for 2011-12 announced

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire information systems department has awarded multiple scholarships and two laptop computers to students for the upcoming 2011-12 academic year.
The following scholarships have been awarded:
- 3M Scholarship — Junior Beatris Mendez Gandica, an information systems major from Venezuela, and senior Pia Lor, Wausau, an accounting major, each will receive $500.
- Cargill — Junior accounting major Sarah Munson, New Richmond, will receive $300.
- Federated Insurance Scholarship — Junior information systems major Jacob Koerner, Beaver Dam, will receive $1,000.
- Germonprez Family IS Scholarship — Beatris Mendez Gandica and senior Kristi Basa, Savage, Minn., an information systems major, each will receive $1,500.
- Information Systems Department Scholarship — Junior information systems major Jared Caspers, New Hope, Minn., will receive $500.
- Willard and Carol Korn Scholarship — Jacob Koerner will receive $300.
- St. Paul Travelers Scholarship — Information systems majors Heidi Bartling, a senior from Middleton, and John Cusick, a junior from Shell Lake, each will receive $1,000. Information systems majors Jakob Broesch, a junior from Merrill, and Laura Spelbrink, a senior from Eagan, Minn., each will receive $1,500.
- Laptop computers were awarded to Jakob Broesch and Pia Lor.
The scholarships are funded by gifts made through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. The student laptop computers were funded by UW-Eau Claire alumnus Rick Schroder and Evelyn Zabo through a gift made to the Foundation.
Donors and recipients will be recognized at the College of Business Scholarship Luncheon in December.
