EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Environmental Adventure Center will team with the Clear Water chapter of Trout Unlimited to offer a two-part "Introduction to Fly Fishing" workshop.
The workshops will run from 4-8 p.m. April 4 in the EAC, located in the basement of Hilltop Center, and April 6 along the Chippewa River near Haas Fine Arts Center.
Participants will learn the basics of fly fishing, become familiar with the equipment, learn to cast and tie basic flies, and practice fishing on the river. The workshop also will include discussions on conservation and healthy stream habits.
Participants are responsible for acquiring a Wisconsin fishing license but all other necessary equipment will be provided. The fee is $15 for students and $20 for faculty, staff and community members, which also includes membership to the local chapter of Trout Unlimited.
Those interested may sign up in the EAC during normal hours as posted on the center's website. For more information, contact Dan Langlois at 715-836-3616 or langlodt@uwec.edu.
