RELEASED: March 1, 2011
EAU CLAIRE — An unprecedented 20 films were submitted for the 24-Day Video Project, a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Local Independent Filmmakers and Chippewa Valley Community Television. A screening and awards ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. March 6 in Schofield Auditorium.
Admission is free and open to all, and free popcorn will be provided. The films have a total running time of two hours, 40 minutes. This year's project theme is "Superheroes."
First prize is a 30-minute consultation on March 8 with Michael Uslan, executive producer of the "Batman" film franchise, before his Forum presentation. Uslan's address — "From Fan to Filmmaker: Bringing Batman to the Silver Screen" — will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Zorn Arena. All participating filmmakers are invited to a reception with Uslan.
The Forum and the University Activities Commission of the Student Senate are co-sponsors of the 24-Day Video Project. For more information, visit the UAC Films website.
