Campus sustains water damage from weekend storm

RELEASED: June 20, 2011

EAU CLAIRE — Several areas on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus sustained water damage as the result of heavy rainfall June 18.

The Saturday storm, which dumped 4 inches of rain in the Eau Claire area between 7 and 9 p.m., was the cause of flooding in the lower level of UW-Eau Claire's Brewer Hall/Campus School complex on lower campus and in the basement of Towers Hall North and Towers Hall South on upper campus. It also caused a washout of an area just south of the university's Nursing Building.

Facilities Management staff is assessing damage and will be responding appropriately. More details will be released when available.
