SUBJECT: UW-Eau Claire, CVTC to collaborate on veterans' services
Military veterans who are students at Chippewa Valley Technical College are now able to use veterans' resources at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, thanks to a new collaboration between the two institutions. Officials from UW-Eau Claire and CVTC on Monday, Feb. 21, will sign a memorandum of understanding that formalizes the agreement to make UW-Eau Claire's Veterans Center and its resources available to CVTC student veterans. The Veterans Center is a place for students who are veterans to meet each other and access resources specifically for them, including programs on veteran needs, support groups and access to a telehealth network through a partnership with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis. Veterans who attend CVTC also will be welcome to participate in activities of UW-Eau Claire's Veterans Club, a student organization.
The following UW-Eau Claire and CVTC officials, along with student veterans from both institutions, will attend the event from 1-1:30 p.m. in the UW-Eau Claire Veterans Center in Room 20 of Schofield Hall:
Members of the media are welcome to attend the agreement-signing event and to talk with student veterans and officials from UW-Eau Claire and CVTC who are in attendance. For more information about the UW-Eau Claire-CVTC veterans services collaboration, contact Bonnie Isaacson, UW-Eau Claire nontraditional student adviser and Veterans Advisory Committee co-chair, at 715-836-3259 or isaacsbj@uwec.edu, and Deb Ludwikowski, CVTC veterans certifying officer, at 715-833-6272 or dludwikowski@cvtc.edu.
