EAU CLAIRE — Comedians Cristela Alonzo and Pete Lee will be featured at the Winter Carnival Comedy Showcase Feb. 18 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The show will start at 9 p.m. at Higherground, the student-run club in Crest Wellness Center. Admission is free.

Now living in Los Angeles, Calif., Texas-born Cristela Alonzo has been a featured comedian on NBC's "Last Comic Standing," Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and as a correspondent for MTV.com. She has also been a staff writer for Comedy Central and MSN.com, and she has written a number of award-winning short films.

Pete Lee's comedy is candy coated with a dash of mean. He mixes cutting punch lines with an underdog perspective to absolutely roast himself on stage. His likable style and self-deprecating humor helped him place 12th out of the top 100 comedians in Comedy Central's Standup Showdown. A semifinalist on NBC's "Last Comic Standing," he has been a standout at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and filmed his own Comedy Central Presents special. Lee's comedy CD, "Gasmoney," plays in regular rotation on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio.

The Winter Carnival Comedy Show is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
