Art student's work selected for Student Research Day promotions

Abstract PosterRELEASED: Feb. 9, 2011

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire art students will host an art showing and reception from 5-6 p.m. Feb. 15 in the McIntyre Library breezeway.

The event will feature artwork from the fall 2010 "Art 374: Graphic Design IV" class taught by Li-Ying Bao, professor of art.

For three years the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has worked with Bao and her art and design students to foster growth and leadership through an annual art contest to develop and produce designs for the UW-Eau Claire Student Research Day advertising campaign.

After all final projects are submitted, 10 finalists are selected to showcase their work in the library breezeway. Selected as Best in Show this year was artwork (shown above) by senior art major Meghan Christian, Racine. Christian will continue to collaborate with ORSP to refine her design for the campaign. Her work will be featured on posters and other advertising and print materials for Student Research Day, which will be held May 2-4.
