Internship Mania offers a chance for employers, students to connect

RELEASED: Feb. 1, 2011

EAU CLAIRE —University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students will be able to explore internship and employment opportunities during Internship Mania 2011.

The free event will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 9 in the Tamarack and Council Fire rooms of Davies Center. Organizations, businesses and agencies from the Chippewa Valley and other parts of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa will attend. Approximately 80 different employers will be on campus for this year's event.

Recruiters will field questions about their companies, accept resumes for internship and employment opportunities and share information about their industries. A complete list of participating employers is available online.

A breakfast social will precede the event from 8-10 a.m. in the Alumni Room of Davies Center. The event is an opportunity for students to visit with employers and begin networking in an informal setting.

Career Services also is offering Internship Mania Prep Day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Career Services office in Schofield Hall 230. Career Services staff members will help students with their resumes, provide tips on professional attire and networking, and help research prospective employers.

Internship Mania is hosted by Career Services. Sponsors are Northwestern Mutual Financial Network: The Bohannon Group, Baker Tilly, Church Mutual Insurance Co., Northwestern Mutual: Milwaukee and the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co.
