Forensics team continues its success with second place finish

RELEASED: Dec. 7, 2011

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team continued its semester of success at the Mike Nicolai Invitational Forensics Tournament Dec. 2-3 at UW-Stout, where the team took second place in team sweepstakes.

Individual results are as follows:

  • Senior Jessica Krentz, Weston, placed fourth in impromptu speaking, fifth in extemporaneous speaking and third in persuasion, qualifying her for the American Forensic Association tournament in spring 2012.

  • Junior Abby Rand, La Crosse, placed fifth in prose interpretation and first in dramatic interpretation.

  • Freshman Jake Stendahl, Forest Lake, Minn., placed third in prose interpretation.

  • Junior Megan McKeown, Eagan, Minn., placed first in prose interpretation, qualifying her for the National Forensic Association tournament in spring 2012. She also placed fifth in dramatic interpretation.

  • Sophomore Alexandra Lawler, Savage, Minn., placed fourth in persuasion, qualifying her for the NFA tournament in this event. She also placed second in program oral interpretation.

  • Sophomore Imran Khan, Brooklyn Park, Minn., and freshman Caitlyn Duley, Saint Michael, Minn., placed fifth in duo interpretation.

  • Senior Natalie Hunter, Vadnais Heights, Minn., placed second in dramatic interpretation, qualifying her for the AFA tournament in that event.

  • Junior Megan Chilman, Le Sueur, Minn., placed fifth in poetry interpretation.
