University Band to perform fall concert Dec. 5

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire University Band, under the direction of Dr. Randal Dickerson, associate professor of music, will perform its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The band will begin its concert with Alfred Reed's "Three Revelations from the Lotus Sutra," followed by "Fortress" by Frank Ticheli and "Elegy for a Young American" by Ronald Lo Presti. The band also will perform Reinhold Gliere's "Russian Sailor's Dance" and Gustav Holst's "Jupiter" from "The Planets." The band will conclude with "Instant Concert" by Harold L. Walters.

The University Band is composed of talented musicians from many academic disciplines, including music majors, some of whom choose to perform on a secondary instrument.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 1-800-949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger, and faculty and staff with a university ID; and free for students with a university ID.
