Minnesota student awarded Groenwold Scholarship

RELEASED: Aug. 31, 2011

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire freshman Sebastian Armendariz, Brooklyn Park, Minn., has been awarded a Roger Groenewold Scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year.

Roger Groenewold, now retired, is a former director of admissions at UW-Eau Claire. The scholarship he created through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation is given to students who are active in and show great potential for theater performance or technical theater.

Eau Claire is frequently recognized as one of the nation's best educational values. U.S. News & World Report magazine consistently names UW-Eau Claire among the best public regional universities in the Midwest.
