New programs for nonprofit professionals to be offered

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension now is accepting registrations for three new programs designed specifically for nonprofit professionals. All programs will be held in Eau Claire.

  • "Engaging Boomers and New Generations of Volunteers" will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 27 at Best Western Trail Lodge Hotel & Suites. Presented by the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration, the workshop focuses on creating an action plan to retool volunteer programs. The fee is $99 and includes program materials, instruction, handouts and refreshments.
  • "Strategic Restructuring: A Conversation about Collaborating for Sustainability" will be held from 1-4:30 p.m. Nov 1 at The Florian Gardens. It is intended for executive directors, development directors and fund development committee chairs. Topics include diversifying income for long-term stability, investigating new revenue sources, engaging board leadership in resource development, revenue performance analysis and tips for diversifying and increasing sources of income. The fee is $59 and includes program materials, instruction, handouts and refreshments.
  • "Nonprofit Social Media" will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 29 at The Plaza Hotel & Suites Conference Center. Presented by Laurie Boettcher of Laurie Boettcher Speaks, the workshop focuses on how nonprofits can use LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to best support their organizations. The fee is $99 and includes program materials, instruction, handouts and refreshments.

Thanks to the Otto Bremer Foundation, scholarships are available to a limited number of nonprofit staff, volunteers and board members for up to 50 percent of the registration fee. For information about how to apply for a scholarship, visit the Continuing Education website and select "Nonprofit."
