Nonprofit Leadership

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will offer a leadership series for nonprofit professionals. The Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Series is designed for nonprofit staff members, volunteers or board members who seek a broad overview of nonprofit management. Individuals may take any number of workshops individually or sign up for the full series and receive a certificate.

"We hope to offer nonprofit professionals the opportunity to sharpen their skills and connect with one another," said Nikki Andrews, an outreach specialist in Continuing Education, who is leading the effort. "As the nonprofit sector continues to evolve, it is critical that we not only increase our competence but that we connect with one another to build a strong base of support for nonprofits in west central Wisconsin."

All workshops in the Nonprofit Leadership Certificate Series will be held at the Plaza Hotel & Suites Conference Center from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Individual program dates and topics are:

  • "Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management," Oct. 25.
  • "Nonprofit Strategic Planning," Nov. 17.
  • "Nonprofit Financial Management and Reporting," Jan. 25.
  • "Nonprofit Board Development and Management," Feb. 23.
  • "Nonprofit Fundraising," March 15.
  • "Nonprofit Marketing and Communications," April 24.

The fee for each workshop is $99 and includes refreshments and workshop materials. Thanks to the Otto Bremer Foundation, scholarships are available to a limited number of nonprofit staff, volunteers and board members for up to 50 percent of the registration fee. For information about how to apply for a scholarship, visit the Continuing Education website and select "Nonprofit."
