Nonprofit board development workshops to be offered

EAU CLAIRE — University
of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension now is accepting registrations for its new nonprofit board development workshops. The workshops are co-sponsored by BoardStar, a Wisconsin resource dedicated to an effective community of board leaders. All programs will be held at the Plaza Hotel & Suites Conference Center in Eau Claire.
- "Orientation Express" will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 27. The workshop is a starting point or refresher course for anyone who serves on a nonprofit board. Topics include fundamental roles and responsibilities of board service with an emphasis on fulfilling the board's governance functions.
- "Increasing Income" will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 28. It is intended for executive directors, development directors and fund development committee chairs. Topics include diversifying income for long-term stability, investigating new revenue sources, engaging board leadership in resource development, revenue performance analysis and tips for diversifying and increasing sources of income.
- "FUNdraising FUNdamentals" will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 28. This fast-paced workshop focuses on building a team for board and staff with development program fundamentals.
The fee for each workshop is $45 and includes refreshments and workshop materials. Thanks to the Otto Bremer Foundation, scholarships are available to a limited number of nonprofit staff, volunteers and board members for up to 50 percent of the registration fee.
